Site compound
A site compound has been established at the intersection of Badgerys Creek Road and Elizabeth Drive, Badgerys Creek.
Preparation for main earthworks
The early earthworks site is separated by Badgerys Creek Road. The following activities have been undertaken in these areas:
- site investigations and remediation
- existing service identification
- removing topsoil and vegetation
- stockpile management; and
- improvement work such as creating internal haul roads.
Early earthworks began in September 2018. To date, the project has moved more than 1,000,000 cubic metres of earth. You can read more about this milestone here.
The project recently achieved a huge milestone having completed one portion of the project. Separable Portion 1 (SP1) has had more than 28,000 cubic metres of topsoil stripped and 250,000 cubic metres of cut to fill completed. SP1 is to the west of the early earthworks site and is now being used a temporary stockpile for sandstone.
Realignment of Badgerys Creek Road
Work on building the new alignment of Badgerys Creek Road is progressing. Currently, work is underway on a new 39m long bridge which will form part of the realigned Badgerys Creek Road.
Main earthworks
Main earthworks will begin once the site has been prepared.
